Platte River Ventures (PRV) acquired Sierra Alloys in November, 2011 and TSI Titanium in December, 2011. Concurrent with the acquisition of TSI, PRV announced the formation of Platte River Metals (PRV Metals) a "portfolio company" with a "specialty metals platform."
  The two companies are clearly complementary in the products produced and the markets served. Additionally, their capabilities to serve different parts of the country geographically is certainly a plus. While both companies produce a range of products and geometries, Sierra's primary product is flat bar/narrow plate, while TSI's is round bar.
  There were many efficiencies and benefits achieved when two companies so complementary in nature were combined. Both companies have the advantage of being able to offer customers a comprehensive line of products and services that are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.
